Our Little Mother Mary!

Ashlyn's Second Friends Christmas Program

Do you see her?  We couldn't believe it until we saw it, our sweet Ashlyn played Mary in the school performance!  Ashlyn mentioned something in the weeks prior to their performance that she was Mary, but I didn't understand what she meant or didn't believe her.  When she took center stage alongside Joseph and the manger we realized she exactly what she meant.  It's amazing that the same little girl who wouldn't put on her costume the first year at Second Friends is volunteering to be Mary the next year.  Her music teacher thanked us after wards and said when she asked who wanted to be Mary, Ashlyn said she wanted to do it.  We just didn't know she had it in her, so proud!  Or course she did a great job protraying Mary!
The entire school representing the birth of our Savior.  There are so many sweet angels, shepherds, the wise men, and even the farm animals that were there the sacred day.

There is "Mary" after the show posing with her brother.  I was impressed with all the preschoolers who sang and danced in their costumes.  The headband that was holding her head cover on kept slipping off her head during the show. Ashlyn just kept trying to get it back on herself without disturbing anyone, it wasn't happening.  Finally, the music teacher jumped up and helped her with her wardrobe,
because the show must go on.
Once again we have Grandma and Grandpa Walker to thank for entertaining Garrett and Preston during the show so I could take pictures while Kendall's on the balcony recording video.  What a great way to celebrate the Christmas holiday with family and watching so many sweet children sing songs of the season.
