It truly is on of the top three zoos in the nation! Kendall and I had been before, that is before kiddos. We planned a trip to Omaha for Easter weekend with Kendall's parents. We managed to squeeze in a lot of fun for two days: we visited the Winter Quarters Temple, then rushed to the zoo before it could close, and still found time to visit downtown, relax and swim. We'd been promising Kendall's parents for some time that we would plan a trip to the temple for them. Of course, we always have to take someone along to watch Ashlyn and Preston so we can do a session. By the time we switch kids off with them so they can go to the temple, it takes practically the entire day. For some reason the zoo closes at 5:oo, so we truly had to run around and see it all in only a few hours. As Ashlyn grows older she gets so excited about everything, its so fun to watch her enthusiasm. This wasn't her first trip to a zoo; however, its the first time she enjoyed it as much as we did! Preston was surprisingly excited to see some of the animals, especially the aquarium exhibit.
Yes, we did have to celebrate Easter in a hotel room. Luckily the Easter Bunny can find you anywhere you go! Of all Sundays, we wait until Easter Sunday to skip church. The lovely Easter dinner everyone else enjoyed was simply a stop at the fast food joint for us. We can't complain, it was the only weekend we could get away and it was very enjoyable.
