Another trip to Silver Dollar City, our frequent vacation destination!  It's great because its not far from home, its close to Grandma Bells house (she's always willing to join the fun and since she is a ride watcher, she hangs out with the little ones who can't ride :). Then there is Grandma Weekes condo which she is always
willing to share to make a nice weekend getaway.  

        My mom started it all when she bought season passes for me and my siblings a few years ago for Christmas, then we started meeting up with our families at SDC whenever we could get away for a weekend.  Now we're all addicted, so we try to buy season passes every other year.  Luckily we were able to squeeze in this one last trip in 2009 during their Christmas celebration, even though only Grandma Bell 

was able to join us!

 This makes our 2nd year at Silver Dollar City, but four years since we first came because we only buy passes every other year.  Anyway, Ashlyn, age 3, has been waiting all this time to grow tall enough to ride on the rides, 36 inches is the magic height. This year she finally got tall enough to ride the lady bugs by herself, a momentous occasion.  Luckily she has been able to ride the other kids rides with an adult since last year since this is the highlight of her trip to SDC.  Ashlyn will ride anything at least once!  Daddy talked her into riding Fire in the Hole, a roller coaster in the dark.  Ashlyn marked that one off the list and said she
wouldn't be riding it again.

 Preston is almost 2 years old on this trip, still riding the rides with an adult which he doesn't mind at all.  His favorite ride this year is the frogs.  I can't say I like accompanying him on this ride, frogs going around and around bouncing up and down.  It gets me queasy every time.

 We love having Grandma along for the fun.  It looks like he is biting her, but really its a big ol' kiss!

 Another ride I don't care to participate in, but it doesn't stop Ashlyn, she rides the
Giant Swings every time and they go way high!

Tis the season to sit with Santa.  Preston and Ashlyn are more then willing to say hi to the 

big guy if there is a candy cane at the end!

So cute, I just love this photo.  We were just playing around with Daddy's new camera while Ashlyn rode the rides Preston couldn't.  He doesn't seem to mind posing for me:)

The best part about Silver Dollar City at Christmas time is all the lights, thousands and thousands of them!  So long for another year, we'll have to wait until 2011 to enjoy our city again.  The nice part about waiting every other year is they always add something new by then...can't wait to see what it will be!
