A Christmas to Remember....

Ashlyn Age: 3, Preston Age: 21 months

Sitting on Santa's lap at Silver Dollar City!  Neither one of them had any issues hopping on the big guys lap. Ashlyn's old enough to know what's in it for her, presents!  Preston is young enough that he just does everything his big sister does, if she's cool with it, so is he.  Plus the candy cane at the end is all the motivation a toddler needs!  We got to squeeze in one more trip with our season passes to Silver Dollar City, the weather was great, Grandma Bell was able to join the fun and we all enjoyed a nice mini vacation in the mist of the busy holidays!
Christmas morning is so exciting, it's almost more fun being the parents on Christmas then it was as a child.  I love to see the excitement and surprise on their little faces when they come down the stairs to see what Santa brought them.  This year Santa found a great deal on a big spring loaded rocking horse.  Ashlyn and Preston are still young enough that Santa can save some money at garage sales:)  This year we took our first trip to Disney, so Ashlyn was excited to get her own Cinderalla castle (pic above), complete with princesses and a carriage too!  Preston's showing off his car garage (pic above) love that "smile".  Since both Kendall and I have to each have a camera, I snatched the video, and he's taking all the still photos. Hence, you won't see Kendall in any of these still photos, but you won't find me in any of the video shots.  We need to do better about switching off, so our posterity will have actual photos of both of us!

So many presents to open, its hard to decide where to start!  Preston's no fool, he's going for the one that's as big as him!  I love the after effects, which some might call chaos, of Christmas!  Kids runny around crazy from the sugar high of too much candy, toys all over the floor so you can barely walk, and wrapping paper everywhere you can imagine.  It's all symbolic of the fun and memories that were just made!
This Christmas will be especially memorable because Grandpa and Grandma Walker weren't able to be with us on Christmas morning like they usually do.  Last night, Grandma was preparing a Christmas Eve feast for everyone and asked Grandpa Walker to sharpen some knives.  Well, the grinder wasn't attached to the table, it kicked back and Grandpa cut his hand, arm and landed on the floor.  So, Grandpa and Grandma Walker spent Christmas Eve in the hospital.  We took our presents to the hospital and had a Christmas Eve party in the waiting room! Luckily, Grandpa was not hurt worse and is healing nicely.

Somehow we started a tradition with our playgroup friends, those same friends we've been playing with since the kids were babies, of taking a photo together with Santa.  Although we're missing some of our friends in the pic above, we had to make sure and get one while we were playing at Crown Center this year!
Ashlyn, Preston, Riley, Adiline and her sister Anna!
