I've learned that time flies, but whoa, how did Garrett grow up so fast! It's exciting and sad all at the same time, every child seems to grow up faster then the one before. I try so hard to make sure Garrett doesn't ever feel the effects of all those "third" child issues, meaning less pictures, less attention, etc. Trying to remember Garrett's first year helps me understand why, it truly goes by so quickly you can hardly remember all those milestones because they seemed to happen so fast. You turn around and suddenly notice a one year old boy running around with his sister and brother, where did he come from?
Unfortunately being the younger brother means you already "have" all your older Sister and Brother's toys, so you truly become the hardest one to shop for! Fortunately at age 1 its all the same difference and you're just excited because everyone else is so excited! Thanks to Tina and her girls he is the first child to have a special first birthday shirt with coordinating crown! Luckily on your first birthday you have plenty of siblings and cousins to show you how "presents" are done, Garrett's just sitting back and watching them do all the work!
Someday Garrett will read this, and only then will he realize that some of his toys are simply "reused" from his siblings younger days! For now he doesn't even care, they're all exciting to him! This zebra bouncer has been a favorite of the Walker kids for many years now:)
Of course you have to celebrate that momentous first year with the smashing of the birthday cake! Garrett has never been shy about his food, and his birthday cake was no exception! He got a taste of that sweet cake and there was no stopping him, as you can see he loved this part the best!
Our family is so blessed to have this sweet boy amongst us, he truly is the life of the party! He doesn't mind taking the spotlight to get everyone to laugh at him. Garrett is a very happy, easy going boy (doesn't the third child have to be this way to survive:) but when he's mad you'll know it! Garrett will go down in history for his scream heard around the world. Garrett has paved his way into the Walker Family History by being the first to ever start walking at 9 months, by 10 months he could go anywhere the other kids could and that's when the real fun began! Garrett has always resembled Ashlyn the most, in my opinion, he's just as bald as she was and got his teeth very early. Our favorite thing is when he makes his "mad" face just so we'll laugh at him, it works every time, even when he really is mad, we can't help but laugh! We love this little guy and enjoy every day he entertains us! Happy Birthday Garrett!
